1. Nature of the Service — What BeepBeep SOS is (and is not)
BeepBeep SOS is a communication tool designed to facilitate the transmission of pre-recorded medical information to third parties (first responders, bystanders, loved ones) in emergency situations.
BeepBeep SOS IS NOT:
- • A medical or paramedical service
- • A medical monitoring or teleassistance service
- • A substitute for 911 or any other emergency service
- • A certified medical device
- • A service guaranteeing real-time human response
- • An infallible detection service (fall detection, geofencing, and alerts depend on technical factors beyond our control: GPS signal, internet connection, battery status, whether the bracelet is worn, etc.)
The Service is solely intended to facilitate communication of information between the person wearing the bracelet and those coming to their aid. It does not replace the intervention of a healthcare professional under any circumstances.
2. Obligation to Contact Emergency Services
In a medical emergency, you must always call 911 (or your local emergency number) first.
BeepBeep SOS cannot and must not be used as the sole means of seeking help in an emergency.
The responsibility for contacting emergency services rests at all times with the user, their loved ones, or any person present at the scene.
SMS and GPS alerts sent by the Service are intended to complement calls to emergency services — never to replace them.
3. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BeepBeep SOS inc. and its officers, employees, partners, and suppliers shall not be liable for:
• Any incident, accident, injury, disability, or death occurring before, during, or after use of the Service
• Any delay, interruption, technical failure, or unavailability of the Service
• Any incorrect, incomplete, or outdated medical information provided by the user
• Any failure to detect a fall, zone exit, or emergency situation
• Any damage resulting from exclusive reliance on the Service instead of official emergency services
• Any action or inaction of a third party (first responder, bystander, emergency contact) who accessed information through the Service
• Any data loss, service interruption, or technical issue related to hosting, network, or user devices
BeepBeep SOS inc.'s total liability to you, for any cause, is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the previous 12 months.
BeepBeep SOS inc. cannot be held liable for any incident, accident, injury, or death. This service facilitates communication only.
4. User Responsibilities
By using the Service, you agree to:
• Keep your medical information current and accurate in your profile
• Inform your emergency contacts of their role and obtain their consent to receive alerts
• Understand that the Service only works if the bracelet is worn, the mobile app is active (for SOS2/SOS3 features), and an internet connection is available for sending alerts
• Not use the Service as the sole safety measure in high-risk medical situations
• Wear the bracelet properly to enable NFC and QR scanning
• Regularly test the Service's functionality from your dashboard
5. Medical Information — Accuracy and Updates
BeepBeep SOS only transmits information that you yourself have entered into your profile.
It is your sole responsibility to ensure this information is accurate, complete, and up to date.
BeepBeep SOS does not verify, validate, or correct the medical information entered.
Incorrect information (missing allergies, outdated medications, wrong blood type) could have serious consequences. BeepBeep SOS inc. cannot be held responsible for such consequences.
We recommend reviewing your medical profile whenever your treatment, allergies, or medical conditions change.
6. Detection and Monitoring Features (SOS2 / SOS3)
Fall detection (SOS2) and geofencing / GPS tracking (SOS3) are technological assistance tools whose operation depends on many technical factors.
These features may not detect every fall or zone exit due to technical limitations (bracelet position, fall type, GPS signal, internet connection, battery status, etc.).
BeepBeep SOS inc. does not guarantee 100% detection of every emergency situation.
These features do not constitute real-time medical monitoring by a healthcare professional.
They do not replace a supervised medical teleassistance system operated by human responders.
7. Subscription, Payment, and Refunds
The Service is offered on an annual subscription, automatically renewed on the anniversary date.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Access to the Service remains active until the end of the paid period.
No refunds are offered for unused days of a current subscription, except as required by law.
The NFC bracelet is sold separately and is non-refundable once shipped, except in the case of a manufacturing defect.
Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) for Canadian residents and US dollars (USD) for others.
8. Changes to Terms
BeepBeep SOS inc. reserves the right to modify these terms at any time.
Material changes will be notified to you by email with 30 days' notice.
The current version is always available on this page.
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and applicable federal laws of Canada.
Any dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec.
If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
